California Gurls- Katy Perry
Now here's the latest buzz, at least in my surroundings. I am totally double minded about this song and especially this video! I love to listen to the music, it's a fun song (I also like the video, fun, girly and colorful). But just a day before I wished I would have not heard the song with the video, and it would have made me like the song even better. For a day, I kept thinking I hate the song, why in the world people like it.
But quite honestly, the next day I was singing the song. It's so catchy. But I must say the video didn't have to be that crazy, I liked the candyfornia concept of the song but the end with all those candies on the bikini. Not appropriate for the young generation who already are crossing limits at quite a young age. May be it's the mom inside of me, that makes me feel strange about the video, thinking of watching and enjoying a song like this in front of my little guy, makes me wonder what impression he'll get! Plus, I question myself and the world out there. Is it necessary to show the obvious on common television, I am totally not in favor of taking innocence from my kids at a very young age. Now tell me to stop watching it! I think not a solution.
I think singers like Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg should rethink before coming up with something like this, they are big icons and greatly affect the way kids think and behave. People like me, think for a day and start liking the funny video next day, laugh over it, enjoy and hum around. But a part inside of me says, I don't know, may be I am crazy!
