Split ends- cause and cure

The most common problem that mostly women face  is split-ends. Now what actually causes split-ends? Split-ends are the result of damage to the tips of the hair, mostly caused by sun rays and excessive use of blow dryers, hair straighteners, hot rollers and strong chemicals. When I was in high school, I streaked my hair. It was looking great but the problems began when I discovered damaged hair after a few months. I got so frustrated I goggled for hair expert's advises and used almost every product in my reach to bring back healthier hair but in veins.

SOME GOOD PERSONAL TIPS:
  • Finally, now I can say what actually helped. The strong chemicals from the streaking procedure took all the life from my hair and it took me four years to realize that the best cure for this type of damage is not to TRIM but to CUT your hair about 2 to 3 inches. But the pampering does not stop here. You have to be careful when exposing your hair to sun rays and limit your use of hair styling tools.

  • Another tip that really proved itself is to take shower in WARM and not HOT water. The heat from the water not only damages the tips but also causes dryness of the skin and scalp resulting in itchiness and other various problems.

  • Comb your hair most often, combing increases circulation and keeps the scalp clean so your hair can breathe.

  • Last but not the least keep oiling your hair. Either you love to use coconut oil, almond extract or any hair conditioning oil product, make it an habit to use oil once bi-weekly.

I love romantic movies

I love watching romantic movies. Just watched "No strings attached" and "Love and other drugs".
If you love watching romantic movies I would suggest going for "No strings attached". It was a cute movie, about a girl who is running from her feelings.
If you have time and are like me who just simply enjoys romantic movies then go for "Love and other drugs". The movie kind of gets boring somewhere in the middle and is also strictly rated "R". It's a romantic movie with drug material and information not suitable for all ages. The movie is about Parkinson disease which makes it a slow and sad romantic movie. It's a Okay movie nothing special.

Some really amazing romantic movies that I kind of remember now:
  1. Titanic
  2. Pretty Woman
  3. 10 things I hate about you
  4. How to lose a guy in 10 days
  5. Confessions of a shopaholic
So tell me? Which one do you like?

Is it just me or what?

Life can sometimes or should I say always be so busy that you simply can't catch up with it. I am always running in the pending mode and every successful day (if any) I am done with all my work, the other day still has more to do always.
Does it happen with you? Or are you as perfect as you seem?
I start my day feeding my boy, cleaning the house, cooking, laundry and there is always something extra on the list. In the afternoon when my little guy is napping, I am crafting and managing all the pending emails, comments, responses on my blogs. Did I mention I have a craft's blog Craftionary.
My evening usually past playing with my boy, taking him out in the park and playing in the water. Then we have dinner and everyone but me sleeps. My blogs are always piling up with emails but hey did I mention I enjoy it!
Actually, I am always longing to watch a movie someday and then I land up managing time for that also.
It makes me wonder!
What if I had nothing to do?
Well their were times when I was not busy but that boredom watching movies, eating and sleeping was making me go crazy.
So, I think it's better to be busy and wake up everyday to doing a lot than to a day with nothing to do!

What do you think? Or is it just me going crazy and finding it optimistic.

California Gurls- Katy Perry

Now here's the latest buzz, at least in my surroundings. I am totally double minded about this song and especially this video! I love to listen to the music, it's a fun song (I also like the video, fun, girly and colorful). But just a day before I wished I would have not heard the song with the video, and it would have made me like the song even better. For a day, I kept thinking I hate the song, why in the world people like it.

Healthy habits healthy brain

You are only as healthy as your habits.
Here are a few habits that are commonly known to everyone but we sometimes do not understand their importance. Count how many good habits you have? The more you have, the more likely you are to be on the healthier track

Breathe Fresh Air

The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling fresh air increases the supply of oxygen to the brain, consequently increasing brain's efficiency.

    Consume Less Sugar

Eating too much sugar fills your body with carbohydrates and interrupts with the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.

Do Not Cover Your Head while sleeping

Sleeping with your head covered, increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.

        Do Not Stress During Illness

Do not work hard or study when you are ill. The brain is less effective in sickness and increase in brain activity stresses and damages the brain in sickness.

          Eat Adequate

A balance diet is the key to health. Overeating causes hardening of the brain arteries which leads to a decrease in mental power. Eat adequate.

            Memory- Boost and Improve

These days we hardly get time to think out of the box. To help keep our memory strong for years to come, we need to keep it active on regular basis. Check out these great tips, and see how great you are doing?

Improve your memory by taking these simple steps and with practice most people can.
            • BELIEVE IN YOUR MEMORY
Convince yourself that you have a good memory that will improve. Most of us are convinced that their memory is bad, that they are just not good with names and numbers just slip out of their minds for some reason. Erase those thoughts and vow to improve your memory.
            • BE ORGANIZED
Keep frequently used items like keys and sunglasses, in the same place every time. Use an electronic organizer or daily planner to keep track of appointments, bills and other tasks. Keep phone numbers and addresses in an address book; enter them into your computer or cell phone. Being organized keeps you from concentrating on daily routine and helps pay attention to other things.
            • CATEGORIZE
Random lists of things can be especially difficult to remember. Group the things into various categories. For example, you want to buy four kinds of vegetables, if you can remember that, among other things, you will find it easier to remember all four.
            • EXERCISE REGULARLY
Regular exercise not only improves circulation and efficiency throughout the body but also the brain. It helps ward off the memory loss that comes with aging. Exercise also makes you more alert and relaxed, and can thereby improve your memory uptake, allowing you to take better mental "picture".
